Launch Your App in Simon Squibb's World's Biggest Business Competition
Enter the App Builder track of the World's Biggest Business Competition. Build a real, revenue-ready app on Emergent in 4 weeks, no code needed.
What is the World's Biggest Business Competition?
The World's Biggest Business Competition (WBBC) is a four-week programme that takes founders from an idea to a real, revenue-generating business. It's run by Simon Squibb, the serial entrepreneur, angel investor and founder of HelpBnk, and this entrepreneur competition runs across five tracks (App Builder, E-commerce, Creator, Services, and Coaching & Communities) with $1M in prizes and 181 winners, including a $100,000 grand prize, and it culminates in a live Demo Day finale.
It is free to join. You learn by building, ship something real inside four weeks, and become prize-eligible by generating actual revenue. It's a business contest with a simple test at its core: not who has the best pitch, but who builds something real that earns.
Key dates
The four-week building phase runs 24 October to 20 November 2026, followed by a live Demo Day finale. All dates are set by the competition organiser.
Where Emergent fits in the App Builder track
Every founder has an idea. The App Builder track is for the ones who actually launch it. If you want to build an app, this is your track, and first-timers are welcome; most builders here start from zero.
What you'll walk away with:
- A working business, not just a working demo
- Set up to actually take payments and manage operations
- Proof you can build, not just plan
When you register, you'll choose between two options:
Option 1: General Entry (free). You take part in the competition and figure out the build yourself, piecing your own tools together.
Option 2: Fast Track (recommended). The upgrade that includes Emergent to build your app, plus extra support and bonuses. This is the option that lets you build the way described below.
So if you want to build your entry with Emergent, choose the Fast Track option at registration. Here's exactly how that works.
How to enter with Emergent
Four steps, from registering to building your app.
Why the App Builder track is winnable on Emergent
Four weeks to ship a revenue-ready SaaS. Can't code? Emergent turns it into four steps.
1. Describe it, and Emergent builds it
Tell Emergent what you want to build and it handles the rest, the frontend, the backend, the business setup, so you spend the competition building your pitch, not fighting your tech stack.
2. Wire in payments and go live
Add Stripe and deploy to a live URL on your own custom domain. Because WBBC prizes are revenue-gated, this is what matters: a real product that actually takes payments, not a prototype that demos an idea.
3. Ship web and mobile from one chat
Take the same product to iOS and Android from the same conversation, with the App Store and Google Play submission flow built in. One product, three surfaces, the kind of entry that stands out on Demo Day.
4. Keep what you build
Full codebase ownership, GitHub export, your own custom domain. Whatever you build during the competition is yours to keep running long after it ends, win or lose.
The prizes
$1M in total prizes across the whole competition, shared by 181 winners.
The competition culminates in a live Demo Day finale. Prize eligibility is earned by generating verified revenue during the programme. This is a competition to build a real business, not to pitch an idea. Full prize rules, judging and selection criteria are set by the competition organiser, you can read the full terms & conditions here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Your Questions, Answered
Don't change this element unless you know what you are doing
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The whole point of building on Emergent is that you describe what you want in plain English and the multi-agent build assembles and deploys it. The App Builder track teaches this end to end.
What exactly does Emergent do in this competition?
Emergent is the recommended build platform for the App Builder track. You describe your product in plain English and Emergent handles the build: prompt to production, payments and auth by conversation, a mobile app from the same chat, deployed live. It isn't mandatory, you can use an equivalent platform if you already have one, but Emergent gives app builders the fastest, most practical route from idea to a first sale.
How do I actually win?
You become prize-eligible by generating verified revenue during the competition. Full judging and selection criteria are set by the competition organiser, and top finalists pitch at the live Demo Day finale.
Which track am I in?
If you're building software, whether a SaaS product, app or digital tool, you're in the App Builder track, and Emergent is the easiest way to build your entry. The competition also runs E-commerce, Creator, Services, and Coaching & Communities tracks, each with its own path.
What do I keep after the competition?
Everything you build. You get full codebase ownership, GitHub export and your own custom domain, so the product you ship during the competition is a real business you can keep running afterwards, win or lose.
How fast can I have something live?
Fast. You describe what you want and Emergent builds and deploys it, so a working, live product is a matter of hours, not weeks. From there you refine it and work towards your first sale.
Is the competition free to enter?
Yes. The World's Biggest Business Competition is 100% free to enter. Optional upgrades and full programme details are on the official competition site.
Do I have to use Emergent?
No. You can use an equivalent platform if you already have one. Emergent is the recommended choice for the App Builder track because it's the fastest way to go from idea to launch, and start working towards your first sale.
