GPT-6 Sol, OpenAI's new cost-efficient model for coding and agentic work, is now available on Emergent. The headline is cost. At launch, OpenAI priced Sol at $2 per 1M input tokens and $10 per 1M output tokens, half its previous generation's rate, and built it for sustained agent work. On Emergent, that lower cost per task means more affordable agentic features in the apps you ship.

GPT-6 Sol is OpenAI's mid-tier model, built for complex coding and agentic workflows at a fraction of flagship Astra's cost. It handles text and image input, returns text, and carries a 1.05 million-token context window with an April 20, 2026 knowledge cutoff.

The benchmark story is score per dollar. In OpenAI's own tests, Sol scores 33.2% on AutomationBench, a test of business workflows across 47 tools, and 68.8% on the DeepSWE v1.1 coding benchmark, both at a low cost per task. On the independent Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, it scores 48 at maximum reasoning effort. For most agentic and business-automation work, that combination makes Sol a strong default.

How to build with GPT-6 Sol on Emergent

You select GPT-6 Sol from the model selector on Emergent, so switching to it takes a single step. From there, your agent uses Sol to build whatever you describe.

You can also manage active models yourself in Account Settings, under the Universal Key's LLM Providers. Either way, usage draws from your Emergent Credits with one unified bill, so there are no separate accounts to create for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
