Emergent Is Now a Unicorn: We Raised $130M in Our Series C at a $1.5B Valuation
Emergent closes a $130M Series C led by Creaegis at a $1.5B valuation. Here's what it means for the builders on our platform.
We just closed a $130 million Series C. Creaegis led the round, with MNI Ventures - Claypond Capital and Sentinel Global as co-leads and participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator. The round values Emergent at $1.5 billion and brings our total funding to $230 million.
A year ago, we launched publicly. Today, our valuation has grown fivefold since our last round. That growth comes from one place: you. Over 12 million applications have been built on Emergent since launch, most of them by people who had never written a line of code before they found us.
This post is about what that means and where we're going.
From launch to unicorn in a year
Here's how we got from there to here:
You built the traction behind this round
Over 12 million apps have been built on Emergent since launch. More than half of our customers have used the platform to build software that is critical to powering their businesses, software that would not have existed without Emergent.
Seventy percent of our users have no prior coding experience. We built Emergent for the non-technical entrepreneur and the small business owner. We give these users a new path beyond generic SaaS, slow and expensive dev shops, lightweight prototype tools, or waiting for technical talent to which they may never have access.
Here's what some of you have built:
These are businesses that would not have had custom software without Emergent. Our users are building CRMs, ERPs, marketplaces, mobile apps, internal tools, customer-facing products, and operational systems. You can see more of what they've built in our case studies.
The problem we're solving
Emergent is addressing one of the biggest barriers in technology creation: access to engineering talent. Businesses increasingly need custom software to operate and scale, but traditional development remains expensive, time-intensive, and dependent on specialized skills.
Agentic AI is changing who gets to build software in the first place, how much it costs to run a business on custom software, and how quickly a company can move from idea to profitable operation.
As our CEO Mukund Jha puts it: "The real impact of the AI revolution will be a complete democratization of who gets to build what software, where they get to build it, and how much it costs. It's about making software development accessible to the people closest to the problem, regardless of their technical knowledge. With a platform like Emergent, the people who have great ideas and deep domain expertise can now build and run the software their business needs to succeed at a fraction of the cost."
"Small businesses today have a historic moment to build, automate, and operate using autonomous platforms and address their disadvantages in the previous era," said Prakash Parthasarathy, Managing Partner at Creaegis. "Emergent is enabling every entrepreneur and business to embrace this change with production-grade software and automation."
What comes next
Emergent is building a future where software development moves closer to the people who understand the problem, the business, and the market. Entrepreneurs can test ideas without raising capital. SMBs can digitize operations without hiring expensive engineers. Internal teams can build tools without waiting on dedicated engineering.
By removing technical barriers, we aim to enable entrepreneurs, businesses, and non-technical founders to create custom software faster and bring ideas to life without traditional limitations.
If you've been describing the business you want to run, you can now build the software that runs it with Emergent.
