Emergent Ranks No. 7 on LinkedIn Top Startups 2026 List for India

Emergent is No. 7 on LinkedIn Top Startups 2026. This annual ranking lists the 20 Indian startups that are growing fastest and drawing the most talent. LinkedIn News India published the list on October 14, 2026, and built it entirely from LinkedIn's own platform data.

The ranking comes a month after Emergent's leadership earned its own recognition. In September, co-founder and CEO Mukund Jha was named to the ET 40 Under Forty 2026 list. Each year, the Economic Times uses it to recognize corporate India's leading business figures under the age of 40.

LinkedIn's 2026 list covers everything from AI and quick commerce to aviation and biotech. Zepto holds the top spot, and other names on the list include Snabbit at No. 6 and Sarvam at No. 9.

How LinkedIn scored the Top Startups 2026 list

LinkedIn scores every eligible startup on four signals, all taken from member activity on the platform. It then normalizes the data across all eligible startups.

  • Employment growth: Percentage headcount increase over the review period, with a 5% minimum to qualify.
  • Engagement: Views and follows of the company page by non-employees, plus how often non-employees view the startup's staff.
  • Job interest: The rate at which people view and apply to the company's open roles.
  • Attraction of top talent: The share of the workforce hired away from companies on LinkedIn's global Top Companies list.

The review window ran from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. To qualify, a company had to meet four conditions. It had to be fully independent and privately held, be five years old or younger, and have at least 30 full-time employees. Any startup that laid off 10% or more of its workforce during that period was excluded.

What LinkedIn's data shows about Emergent

LinkedIn lists Emergent as founded in 2024, with a full-time headcount of 335. It also notes that Emergent became a unicorn in July after a $130 million funding round. That Series C valued Emergent at $1.5 billion and brought its total funding to $230 million. Engineering, sales, and marketing are its largest job functions.

Why AI is changing who starts companies

AI is lowering the barrier to starting a company, and LinkedIn's own data backs this up. In its write-up, LinkedIn reports that four in 10 professionals globally say AI has made them more likely to start a business.

That is the audience the platform is built for. Seventy percent of its users have no prior coding experience, according to the company's Series C announcement. For them, hiring developers or an agency can take months and cost tens of thousands of dollars. Closing that gap is the whole point of the product.

Mukund Jha, Emergent's co-founder and CEO, described the shift when the company announced its Series C:

"The real impact of the AI revolution will be a complete democratization of who gets to build what software, where they get to build it, and how much it costs."

What Emergent does

Emergent is an AI app building platform that turns a plain-language description into a working, full-stack application. A builder describes the software they need. AI agents then build the frontend, backend, database, authentication, payments, and deployment.

The same workflow covers most of the software a business runs on, through eight builders:

Builders own the code and the data, and they can connect services their business already uses, such as Stripe. Emergent's case studies show what builders have shipped, from a roofing contractor's command center to a fleet management app.

What the ranking means for builders and job seekers

For builders, a place on LinkedIn Top Startups 2026 is independent evidence that the platform they build on is growing fast. LinkedIn's method rewards companies that people actively follow and want to work for. Raising money alone doesn't earn a spot.

For job seekers, Emergent is hiring. Open roles are listed on the Emergent careers page

If you have an app idea you've been sitting on, describe it and see what gets built.
